The Gospel
The Bible says we are all sinners. (Romans 3:23) We have broken God's law and are all guilty of sin.
As a result, we are separated from God, we are dead in our sin (Romans 6:23). God doesn't want this for us.
The only way to escape this separation and be restored in our relationship with God is by receiving Jesus and trusting what he did on the cross. (John 14:6, Acts 4:1, 1 Peter 2:24)
Since we are sinners, we can not remove this separation on our own. We can't be restored on our own accord, because our sin has us dead...trapped.
So God must do it. He did do it.
Jesus bore our sins on the cross. He died in our place. He paid the penalty for us. For you. For me. It is through faith and relationship with Jesus that we are saved. To be forgiven and restored in relationship with God, you must look to Jesus and trust what he did.
It's not what you do...you can't do more, add more, work more to be forgiven and restored in the Lord. No. It's not do. It's done. And Jesus' grace is sufficient.
I Want to Know Jesus
If you want to receive Christ, you can do it by praying the following prayer. It is not a formula, nor does it need to be prayed perfectly. Instead, it is a representation of what it means to trust in Jesus.
Jesus. I come before you and confess that I am a sinner. I have broken your word. Forgive me of my sins. I trust in what you have done on the cross and I accept you as my savior. Please make me clean, purify me. Be the Lord of my life. I trust you for the forgiveness of my sins and know that it's not what I do that saves. It's you. Please save me.
If you pray this prayer with a sincere and repentant heart, welcome into the family of God!
The Bible says, "if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved." (Romans 10: 9) And that's what you've just done. Confessed. Believed. You are saved.

Now What?
Once you have prayed this prayer, you need support for your walk with Jesus!
1) Get a Bible and start reading. If you can't afford a Bible, a church focused on building Christ Followers will provide one for you. It doesn't matter the version you use, as long as it helps you in your faith walk. (2 Timothy 3:16 - 17)
2) Attend a good, Bible teaching church, where you feel loved, accepted and encouraged, and can participate in meaningful worship. (Acts 2:42)
3) Find small group or Bible study where you can discuss scripture, learn, grow and find a true fellowship of believers that loves one another and seeks to build up in faith. (John 13:35)
